Sampling allows the the user to study the effect of sampling an analogue signal at discrete time intervals. The sound represented by the sampled waveform is played so both ear and eye can be used to appreciate

• Aliasing

Wave Simulator models the passage of waves along a chain of masses connected by springs. The boundary conditions may be changed. The waves can be driven automatically or the mouse may be used to grab and shake a mass in real time. Features that may be studied include:

• Superposition
• Reflection
• Standing wave formation
• Damping

Quantum Shuffle models the random exchange of quanta of energy between atoms in a solid. It illustrates:

SGTMS is a modelling system that was originally written as an update of the 'Dynamical Modelling System' introduced in the second edition of Nuffield A level Physics. It preserves the general approach of the DMS whilst offering
